An interesting shrub native to brazil, the Abutilon Megapotamicum is a bushy deciduous medium-sized shrub with small, pendulous flowers appearing throughout the lance-shaped to ovate green foliage from Summer through to Autumn. The outer sepals are a rich crimson and give the appearance of a small lantern while the inner petals are a contrasting bright yellow. Together these give the plant a very exotic and tropical feel that fits nicely into warm Summer gardens.
Plant in moist, well-drained soils and keep in full sun. Keep in sheltered position or indoors to avoid cold Winter winds and frost which are likely to damage the plant otherwise.
