Hakushu comes from Japan's mountain forest distillery, at the foot of the Japanese Southern Alps. The whisky is made from water with a rare softness, slowly filtered through ancient granite. Maturing in a lush forest microclimate, Hakashu experiences the regions ever-changing seasons - each unique season leaving its own signature. The whisky creators pursue their founder's legacy through the art of "Tsukuriwake" - diversity in creating. Diverse fermentation, distillation and maturation techniques help create the blending methods essential to achieve the signature subtle, refined and complex taste that is Hakashu Single Malt Japanese Whisky. Light gold in colour. There's notes of peppermint, melon and cucumber on the nose. To taste, there's hints of yuzu, grapefruit and lemon thyme. The finish is refreshing and with a touch of subtle smoke.
